Job Purpose The purpose of this position is to implement, test and maintain retail systems software, networks, hardware and peripheral equipment in all retail stores serviced by the North Rand Distribution Centre and to ensure that users are sufficiently knowledgeable of system processes in order to optimize store performance Key Performance Areas Maintain close working relationships with SPAR North Rand Retailers • Advise and assist Retailers with profitability by system application Advise Retailers on the effective use of retail systems. Analyse retailer’s procedures and controls and advise on risk areas Ensure required administrative duties are performed at retail • Complete system audits and development plans at store level. Implement and maintain existing and new system standards at retail Attend to and resolve IT calls relating to hardware and software Set up, configure, install & support hardware, peripheral equipment, operating systems, networks, and retail systems software in retail stores Support the retail store networks, equipment and software systems Resolve hardware, software and business processing problems and queries reported through the SGIS Help Desk.

Implement and manage retail IT projects. Provide training to store owners and staff members, prepare user training manuals where necessary. Compile business functions manuals. Effective communication with Store Owners, staff, and other stakeholders in order to provide excellent service, support and mentorship. Provide comprehensive statistics of systems implemented, to ensure that IT standards are upheld and maintained. Compile, implement and drive best operating procedures Minimum requirements Matric or equivalent Diploma / Business Management / Degree in related field Working knowledge of MSSQL Databases Project Management / Training Skills Advantageous Good communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Valid driver’s license and passport High Energy Levels and ability to operate under pressure Good Analytical & Decision-Making Skills Ability to perform change management Ability to work unsupervised and willingness to travel long distances.

Willingness to work after hours and weekends when needed FMCG retail business knowledge would be an advantage Excellent knowledge of SPAR Group Retail Systems (SIGMA and Dstore) Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint Working knowledge of MS server and desktop systems Hardware and software infrastructure implementation and maintenance skills
