Principal Training Officer Hiring
The Department of Water and Sanitation Services is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as a Principal Training Officer. As a Principal Training Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our employees in the water and sanitation sector.
Training Program Development:
Collaborate with department managers and subject matter experts to identify training needs and goals.
Design and develop training programs, including curriculum, training materials, and assessments.
Utilize various instructional techniques and delivery methods, such as classroom training, e-learning, and on-the-job training, to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
Training Program Implementation:
Coordinate and schedule training sessions, ensuring appropriate resources and facilities are available.
Deliver training sessions to employees, utilizing engaging and interactive training techniques.
Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, gather feedback, and make necessary improvements to enhance the training program.
Training Needs Assessment:
Conduct training needs assessments to identify skills gaps and training requirements.

Make recommendations for training interventions based on the identified needs and performance gaps.
Maintain accurate training records, including participant attendance, training completion, and evaluation results.
Coordinate with external training providers and vendors to organize specialized training programs as needed.
Manage the training budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
Training Quality Assurance:Develop and implement quality standards for training programs and materials.
Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging trends, and advancements in training methodologies.
Continuously evaluate and improve the quality and relevance of training programs.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as education, instructional design, or human resources. A master’s degree is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in training and development, preferably in the water and sanitation sector.
Experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and training delivery.
Knowledge and Skills:
Solid understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and training evaluation methods.
Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
Proficiency in using training management systems and e-learning platforms.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
