Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is seeking experienced Cashiers to join our team at Willowbridge – Tygervalley in the Western Cape. As a Cashier, your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service at the point of sale, ensuring a world-class shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Record customer transactions accurately using Dis-Chem’s operating system, following company policies and standard operating procedures.
- Establish professional relationships with customers, addressing their queries and concerns promptly.
- Stay informed about current sales, promotions, and special offers.
- Handle cash flow responsibly, ensuring all transactions, returns, and exchanges are processed efficiently.
- Adhere to Dis-Chem’s security policies, reporting any suspicious behavior to management.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring the safety and security of colleagues and customers.
- Process loyalty cards and various forms of payments, including cash, bank cards, vouchers, and coupons.
- Report customer complaints and compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience in cashier/till operations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic computer literacy.
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and oral.
- Basic understanding of customer service principles.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible retail hours.
Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of operating cash registers and maintaining cash drawers.
- Ability to process sales, refunds, and payments accurately.
- Emotional intelligence and social awareness.
- Problem-solving skills and accountability.
- Trustworthy, honest, and reliable.
- Time management and attention to detail.
Advantageous:
- Proficiency in a third additional language.
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Willingness and ability to work retail hours.
- Reliable transport or residence in close proximity to the store.
- South African citizenship.
