Responsibilities:

The National Technical Manager will be responsible for the following:

– National Technical Strategy:* Develop and implement a comprehensive national technical strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
– Technical Budgeting:* Plan and manage the technical budget, ensuring effective utilization of resources and equipment.
– Technical Team Management:* Oversee and manage the technical team, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
– Operational Collaboration:* Facilitate relationships between operational and technical divisions, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
– Compliance and Risk Management:* Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, identifying and mitigating technical risks.
– Technical Expertise: Provide technical support and expertise to the team, resolving complex technical issues.
– Reporting and Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on technical performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

– Experience: 10-15 years of experience in a technical management role, preferably in the transportation industry.
– Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical engineering, automotive engineering), with a preference for a qualified mechanic.
– Licenses and Certifications: Valid passport and driver’s license (Code 14 preferred).
– Computer Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and technical software applications.
– Leadership and Management: Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in managing technical teams.
– Communication and Problem-Solving: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
– Adaptability and Flexibility: Willingness to travel frequently and work in a fast-paced environment.
