The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is seeking to fill three Administrative Clerk positions within the Works Management division. This is a 36-month contract opportunity based at the Mthatha Regional Office.

Position Details:

Requirements:
- Senior Certificate or Grade 12, or an equivalent qualification
- Relevant experience in clerical and office administration duties, Works Management, or Facilities Management
- Proficiency in computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Familiarity with software such as Reapatala, Archibus, Wox4u, and papertrail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic knowledge of the public finance act, accruals, report writing, and submissions
- Competency in general office administration and organizational tasks
- Ability to work independently under pressure while maintaining trustworthiness
- Good interpersonal skills and basic numeracy
- Willingness to adapt work schedule according to office requirements
- An advantage: Three-year qualification (NQF Level 6) in administration or a recognized equivalent qualification by SAQA
Responsibilities:
The selected candidates will be responsible for various administrative duties including:
- Coordinating and recording complaints
- Approving complaints through the Archibus System
- Managing quotations and updating the Worx4u system
- Capturing and tracking quotations on spreadsheets
- Following up on quotations with work managers
- Administering payments and capturing approved funds
- Compiling Accruals and necessary reports
- Liaising with stakeholders and organizing office logistics
- Handling general receptionist duties
- Drafting, typing, and managing correspondence, documents, and reports
- Managing the flow of information and documents in the office
- Processing forms and documents related to claims, payments, invoices, and consultant fees
