The High Court Polokwane is seeking dedicated individuals to fill 66 contract posts as EPWP Cleaners, ending on September 30, 2024. This opportunity offers a monthly salary of R2,500.00 and requires signing a performance agreement.

Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP)

The EPWP is a government initiative aimed at reducing poverty and unemployment by creating temporary work opportunities. The program focuses on infrastructure development, social services, and environmental conservation. As an EPWP Cleaner, you will contribute to maintaining a clean and secure environment at the High Court Polokwane.

Key Requirements

– Meet the criteria set out in the Code of Good Practice for employment and conditions of work for the Expanded Public Works Programme
– Preference will be given to:
– Youth aged 18-35 (55% of successful candidates)
– People with disabilities (2% of successful candidates)
– Individuals from households with specific economic and educational characteristics
– Ability to read and write
– Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
– Honesty, reliability, and physical strength
– Ability to work as part of a team

Duties and Responsibilities

As an EPWP Cleaner, your duties will include:

– Cleaning floors, dusting, washing, and polishing furniture, walls, doors, and frames
– Cleaning windows, lockers, and outside areas
– Cleaning and washing dust bins and removing waste bags, including medical waste
– Adhering to healthcare waste management policy
– Terminal cleaning of infected rooms
– Ensuring a clean and secure environment for Court Users
– Performing other delegated duties by supervisor

Working Conditions

– Work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
– Physical demands of the position
– Ability to cope with pressure and meet deadlines
