We are seeking a highly efficient and detail-oriented Picker to join our warehouse team at Food Lovers Market. As a Picker, you will play a vital role in our operations, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely picking, packing, and dispatch of products to our stores. *Key Responsibilities:*
– Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (pick, pack, wrap, label)
– Maintain a clean and safe working environment, optimizing space utilization
– Report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors or management
– Communicate and cooperate with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments
– Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks)
– Follow quality service standards, procedures, rules, and regulations
– Handle heavy lifting, moving products as needed (up to 25 kg)
– Operate a scanner to track and record inventory movements
– Build and maintain product knowledge to assist with accurate picking and packing
– Work efficiently, especially during peak periods
*Requirements:*
– Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
– English language proficiency
– Clear criminal record
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
– Physical stamina to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods
– Basic math skills and attention to detail
– Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
*Preferences:*
– South African citizenship or permanent residency
– Living within 15 km of the job location
– Minimum 1 year of experience as a picker in a warehouse environment
