*Introduction:*
SPAR North Rand is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join our team. As a Junior Buyer, you will provide administrative support to the Purchasing Manager and Category Manager, assisting with various tasks related to product purchasing, inventory management, and supplier communication.
*Key Responsibilities:*
– Assist the Category Manager with basic replenishment buying and ensure day-to-day administration is maintained and updated.
– Compile and circulate daily, monthly, and annual reports as required.
– Ensure products are listed on the AS400 system with the correct vendor pack and pricing information.
– Monitor and address out-of-stock and dog-line issues daily.
– Remove discontinued stock items and contact retailers to sell overstocked products.
– Capture added demand products and ensure suppliers have booked delivery slots with receiving.
– Follow correct procedures for returning stock and follow up on orders placed with suppliers.
– Ensure promotional quantities received from the promotions department are accurate.
– Verify invoices from suppliers correspond with pricing on the system.
– Monitor stock levels and age daily, and take action to sell overstocked items and ADHOC SKUs.
– Prepare and submit marketing reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
– Coordinate department meetings, booking venues, and organizing catering.
– Assist with marketing communication to retailers and suppliers.
– Support various marketing events, such as trade shows, golf days, public events, and roadshows.
*Requirements:*
– Matric with Maths on Higher Grade (HG)
– Marketing Degree/Diploma or Purchasing Diploma
– High level of numeracy
– Administrative orientation and enjoyment of administrative work
– Accuracy and attention to detail are essential
– Previous creditors experience would be advantageous
– Knowledge of the SPAR Creditors system would be advantageous
– Receiving experience is advantageous
