Programme Information
The Santam Learnership Programme is a transformation initiative that aims to build a sustainable pipeline of talented individuals who will support business objectives by addressing the skills shortage in the financial services sector.
Upon completion of the programme and the FSCA regulatory exams RE5, learners can apply for professional membership with the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA).
Our Desire
We desire to provide this opportunity to as many young, unemployed individuals as possible. This will allow us to contribute to investing in our youth and the future of our economy and country.
Who Can Apply?
– Unemployed individuals with a Grade 12 Certificate
– Minimum pass mark of 40% for English and a Second Language
– Minimum pass mark of 40% for Mathematics or 60% for Mathematics Literacy
– South African citizens between 18 and 28 years old
– Applicants must not be studying with other institutions while on the learnership
– Applicants must not have been on a Short-Term Insurance Learnership through INSETA
– Persons with disabilities must produce a medical note confirming the nature of the disability
– Applicants must not have more than one year of work experience
Who Cannot Apply?
– Individuals with post-matric qualifications (e.g., Higher certificate, National Diploma, Degree, Honours)
– Individuals studying towards any post-matric qualification
– Individuals with more than one year of work experience

Duration and Location
The learnership will run for 12 months starting on September 1, 2024, in various locations, including Sandton, Randburg, Parktown/Hill on Empire, Centurion, Lead London/Graaf Reinet, and Bedfordview.
