Job Purpose

The position of Trainee Draughtsperson is an entry-level role aimed at developing proficiency in the application of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software to prepare construction drawings for water reticulation systems. This role will provide foundational experience in technical draughting procedures, aiding in the creation of detailed plans and drawings essential for water and wastewater projects.

Key Responsibilities

As a Trainee Draughtsperson, your responsibilities will include:

  • Extraction of Cadastral Information: Utilizing GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software to extract necessary data.
  • Data Manipulation: Handling and manipulating survey CAD data provided by the Survey Division.
  • Field Investigations: Conducting on-site investigations to verify the accuracy of data and identify additional elements that could impact construction.
  • Peripheral Device Operation: Operating plotters and printers to produce physical copies of drawings.

This role is designed to equip you with the skills needed to advance to higher draughting positions, where you will take on more complex tasks and responsibilities.
