As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for designing, testing, implementing, and maintaining databases to ensure accuracy, security, and a client-centric environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum Qualification: Grade 12
• Preferred Qualification: Relevant Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Experience: 3 to 5 years’ experience in Database Administration
• Required Knowledge:
  • Design and administration of logical and relational databases in diverse technological environments
  • Troubleshooting and analysis protocols
  • Various database systems such as Oracle, MYSQL, or SQL Server
  • Database queries and theory
  • Distributed computing architectures

Responsibilities:

• Foster productive relationships with teams and across functional lines to encourage collaboration and innovation
• Resolve database conflicts in alignment with quality standards and eliminate inappropriate data usage
• Support the creation of a scalable and resilient database system to mitigate disaster and performance risks
• Design and create relational databases, develop scripts for standard and non-standard database access, and provide database administrative support, including replication processes and maintenance
• Promote a culture of collaboration within FNB and/or across the FRG (FNB Retail and Group)
• Seek timely and clear feedback to assess own performance and request training when necessary
• Compile reports to track progress and provide valuable insights for informed business decisions
• Ensure compliance with legislative and audit requirements and adherence to relevant processes
• Focus on delivering optimal services and continuously improving service delivery processes to meet or exceed customer expectations
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to contain and reduce costs
