Internship Details Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend. However, they are responsible for their own accommodation, transportation, and meals.
Most internships have a duration of 12 months, and while some candidates may be offered permanent positions afterward, such offers are not guaranteed.
Eligibility Criteria To apply for an internship with any Government Department, candidates must meet the following requirements. Additional criteria may apply depending on the specific department.
- South African citizenship
- Age between 18 and 35
- Residency in South Africa with a valid ID document
- Unemployed status without prior participation in a Government internship
- Proficiency in English (Speaking, Reading, Writing)
- Absence of a criminal record
- Relevant degree or qualification in the chosen field
- Submission of a CV with contactable references
- Encouraged to include a cover letter detailing interests, hobbies, extracurricular activities, and motivation for application

Once completed, the application and all necessary documents can be submitted via post or in person to the Department of Higher Education.
