Job Description: Santam Operations, specifically the Agri Commercial Contact Centre in Bloemfontein, is offering exciting career opportunities for Insurance Consultants. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering end-to-end service and support to insurance brokers. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing telephonic and email support to intermediaries, authorized representatives, and broker services.
- Handling general insurance and policy-specific inquiries.
- Managing the issuance of new policies, policy maintenance, renewals, and agricultural aspects of policies.
- Resolving insurance queries promptly while ensuring compliance requirements are met.
- Conducting follow-ups with clients when policies are canceled to understand the reasons and retain policies when possible.
- Adjusting premiums in alignment with new asset values.
- Setting and managing client expectations regarding request turnaround times.
- Adhering to underwriting criteria and regional requirements.
- Assisting in profiling clients with the most suitable product and underwriting criteria.
- Advising brokers to ensure clients receive the correct cover and product.
- Collaborating on solutions for continuous improvement.
- Providing support during busy periods or the absence of key resources.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric/Grade 12
- 60 commercial lines FAIS credits
- A relevant insurance-related qualification (e.g., NQF lev 4) is advantageous
- Proven work experience in commercial and agricultural policy administration and underwriting within the short-term insurance industry
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in short-term insurance commercial lines and/or Agri assets
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and external stakeholders/clients
- Commitment to quality, compliance, and accreditation standards
- Efficient administration skills
- Ability to optimize work processes
