Role Overview:

The position of Quality Inspector in the Security Alarms division at Fidelity ADT is a crucial role designed to ensure the quality and effectiveness of alarm installations. This entry-level position is integral to maintaining the high standards that Fidelity ADT upholds. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting both dealer and in-house alarm installations, ensuring they meet the company’s rigorous standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inspection Scheduling and Execution:
    • Schedule and conduct inspections of alarm installations at client locations.
    • Capture and document inspection results meticulously.
    • Complete a minimum of eight inspections daily and ensure all related documentation is accurate and filed properly.
  2. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Generate detailed inspection reports based on the findings from each inspection.
    • Collect and document photographic evidence of any inspection failures.
    • Report the status of inspections to management, providing insights into common failure reasons and contributing to strategies aimed at minimizing such failures.
  3. Communication and Coordination:
    • Liaise with dealer and in-house management regarding the results of inspections.
    • Assist in analyzing trends and reporting findings to improve overall service quality.
    • Address any client problems or complaints promptly and effectively.
  4. Compliance and Standards:
    • Follow all relevant Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure adherence to the company’s disciplinary code.
    • Uphold high standards of service and compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
    • Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle at all times, reflecting the company’s professional image.
  5. Training and Development:
    • Attend all required meetings and training sessions to stay updated on industry standards and company policies.
    • Ensure the FADT Vision and Mission are consistently upheld in all aspects of the role.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Educational Background:
    • A Grade 12 qualification is mandatory.
  2. Technical Experience:
    • Previous experience with alarm systems is essential, with a proven track record in this field.
    • PSIRA Registration at Grade C level is required.
  3. Skills and Attributes:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Listener software.
    • Valid driver’s license is essential.
    • Sober habits and a presentable appearance are crucial.
    • Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with clients and management.
