Your Role: Delivering Service with a Smile
As a Shop Assistant / Cashier, you’ll be on the front lines, embodying the Clicks brand and ensuring every customer interaction is positive and memorable. Your primary goal will be to deliver service excellence, encompassing efficient point-of-sale operations, proactive customer engagement, and meticulous merchandising.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Efficient Point-of-Sale Operations: You’ll be responsible for accurately processing transactions, handling cash securely, and ensuring the smooth flow of customers through the checkout. This includes precise scanning of merchandise and adeptly managing ClubCard rewards.
- ClubCard Promotion and Enrollment: A crucial part of your role will be to actively promote the Clicks ClubCard, highlighting its benefits to customers, and enthusiastically enrolling new members to help achieve participation targets.
- Driving Sales through Awareness: You’ll play a vital part in informing customers about ongoing promotions, helping them to “feel good and pay less,” and ultimately contributing to positive sales outcomes.
- Superior Customer Service: As a brand ambassador, you’ll be visible, approachable, and professional, always ready to offer assistance and ensure a friendly and positive shopping experience for every individual.
- Merchandising and Housekeeping: Maintaining the visual appeal of the store is key. You’ll be involved in efficiently executing and upholding merchandising standards and general housekeeping duties, ensuring the store is always presentable and inviting.
- Product Knowledge and Information: Staying informed about products, ranges, promotions, and events is essential to providing accurate and helpful information to customers at all times.

What We’re Looking For: Skills and Experience

Essential Knowledge:
- A solid grasp of basic maths calculations is fundamental for accurate cash handling and transactions.
- An understanding of retail/FMCG operations, including merchandising and promotional principles, will be highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with stock management procedures will aid in maintaining an organized store environment.
- Crucially, a strong knowledge of customer service excellence is paramount.

- Education: A Grade 12 certificate is essential. Ideally, candidates will have achieved Maths 50% and English 50% at Grade 12 level, demonstrating foundational academic proficiency.
