Minimum Requirements
- For Cleaner Posts:
- A Grade 10 certificate or an equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of various cleaning materials and equipment.
- Must be physically fit, punctual, and dependable.
- An understanding of the Batho Pele principles (an African philosophy that means “People First,” focusing on putting the needs of the public first).
- For General Worker Posts:
- An ABET Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
- The ability to read and write.
- Experience or knowledge of gardening and general maintenance tasks.
- Must be physically fit and capable of manual labor.
- A team player with strong communication skills.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleaner:
- General cleaning of offices, storerooms, corridors, toilets, and boardrooms.
- Emptying waste bins.
- Cleaning windows, walls, and kitchen equipment.
- Vacuuming floors and scrubbing toilets.
- Refilling water coolers and providing water during meetings.
- General Worker:
- Assisting with the maintenance of premises.
- Moving furniture and helping with loading and unloading tasks.
- Maintaining and operating gardening tools and machinery.
- Removing garbage and assisting with receiving stock deliveries.
