Fixed Term Store Cleaner at Dis-Chem in Centurion Lake
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking an experienced cleaner for a fixed-term contract position at their Centurion Lake store. The role involves maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the store, including the sales floor, stockroom, dispensary, administrative offices, and staff canteen. This is a contract position, and the successful candidate will report to the SV – MK Division.
Key Responsibilities
The primary duties of the role are centered around ensuring the store remains clean, neat, and hygienic. This includes:
- Performing daily cleaning tasks to a high standard, particularly before the store opens.
- Developing and following a cleaning routine for all areas of the store.
- Keeping the staff canteen and restrooms clean and well-stocked with essential supplies.
- Being available to clean up spills or messes as needed throughout the day.
- Using the correct cleaning products and equipment for specific tasks.
- Following safety procedures, such as using “wet floor” signs when cleaning floors.
- Assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- A Grade 12 or Matric certificate.
- A minimum of six months of cleaning experience.
- A sound command of the English language, both written and oral.
- Basic customer service skills.
- The ability to speak an additional language specific to the area.
- Willingness and availability to work retail hours, which may include weekends and holidays.
- Be physically fit and able to perform tasks such as walking, standing, climbing, and lifting.
- Reliable transportation or live in close proximity to the store.
- Be a South African citizen with clear credit and criminal records.
Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual and have prior cleaning experience in a retail environment.
