The Social Media Specialist will protect, enhance and grow Tiger Brands positive reputation through a dedicated focus on the company’s external positioning and content on its social and digital platforms.

What you will do at Tiger Brands:
• Develop and implement a relevant social media strategy that integrates with the corporate communication strategy
• Manage our social media and digital presence (FaceBook; Twitter; Linked-In; YouTube and Tiger.com)

• Develop and implement a relevant social media plan, aligned to corporate positions (social licence to operate, group marketing and brand objectives)
• Social media monitoring with a bias toward social listening to adequately respond to issue emanating on social media that could result in reputation harm, or to proactively position Tiger Brands on a positive issue
• Interpret risks and spot potential reputational issues in Social Media and cascade these to relevant management for action
• Manage content on all external corporate platforms (website, blog, social media channels) and manage the updating of information in the public domain on digital/online platforms (Digital platforms owned and managed by the Digital COE)

• Actively partner with internal stakeholders to develop social media and digital collateral
• Develop and execute appropriate SLAs with internal stakeholders for appropriate management of all digital and social media content (Consumer Care team; HR; Marketing; CA)

• On-going online and social media community management across all channels and interfaces
• Develop and manage a social media and digital response matrix to assist with community management
• Oversight of social media policy implementation across Tiger
• Manage relevant agencies for collateral and content
• Professional reporting on insights and performance across all channels for Exco and Board (SET)
• Provide expertise and steer as a subject matter expert for social media and digital content and risk management approaches for Tiger Brands

Key attributes and competencies:
• Experience using social media listening and analytics tools (BrandWatch, Meltwater, etc.)
• Community management: social media monitoring, listening, reporting and engaging across multiple platforms on social media.
• Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Managing customer/stakeholder expectations
• Interacting with diverse groups
• Working in a fast-paced environment
• Working in a team
• Managing conflict situations
• Sharing information in different ways to increase stakeholders understanding
• Business writing and proof reading
• Ability to keep a level head under pressure
• Strong communicator with a passion for content creation

• Ability to sell ideas and win support for initiatives
• Good presentation skills

Experience
• Relevant bachelors degree
• 2 to 3 years in a corporate or agency environment with clear social media deliverables/ responsibilities
