Job Purpose:
This internship program serves the following purposes:
- It offers completed S4/S5 University students the opportunity to fulfill the required 1-year P1 and P2 experiential learning, a prerequisite for obtaining their National Diploma.
OR
- It provides completed National Diploma or BEng Tech students the chance to complete 1 year of experiential learning.
As a Mechanical Learner Technician, you will provide technical support to managers and engineers in specific designated environments. This entails applying theoretical skills, making suggestions, and assisting in the implementation of system optimizations under supervision. Please note that this position is based on a non-permanent performance-based contract.

Functional Outputs:
- Establish strong customer relationships to comprehend their needs.
- Ensure that quality, quantity, and deadlines are met according to standards.
- Deliver high-quality results when collecting, processing, or reporting data.
- Efficiently manage your work planning and delivery in alignment with the curriculum.
- Identify opportunities for optimization and assist in their implementation under supervision.
- Develop relevant technical proposals based on practical and theoretical knowledge.
- Provide technical support to multi-disciplinary teams within specific environments.
- Execute tasks with cost consciousness in mind.
- Apply safety principles when planning and executing projects.
- Attend six-monthly panel reviews to monitor and adjust performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A National Senior Certificate or N3 certificate with subjects in Mathematics, Engineering/Physical Science, and English/Business English.
- Option 1: Completed S4 or S5 from a University of Technology in Mechanical (excluding P1 and P2 – a letter from the University stating such will be required).
- Option 2: Completed National (S) Diploma, BTech, or BEng Tech degree in Mechanical.
- A valid driver’s license.
