Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate recognized by SAQA
- Minimum of 1 year work experience in customer care service, law enforcement, or security
- Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification (advantageous)
- Completion of Cadet or Internship Programme with the Department of Home Affairs (added advantage)
- Knowledge of South African constitution, Public Management Act, Public Finance Management Act, Immigration Act, Refugees Act, Criminal Prosecution Act
- Knowledge of international and regional agreements and instruments
- Computer literacy
- Customer orientation and service delivery improvement mindset within legal frameworks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven business partnering and stakeholder engagement
- Patriotism, honesty, and integrity
- Interrogation skills and security orientation
- Team player with decisiveness
- Willingness to work shifts and relocate if necessary
Duties: The successful candidate will be responsible for tasks such as:
- Controlling the admission and departure of persons to and from the Republic through the Port of Entry
- Conducting clearance of travelers and signing in of crew members on arrival and departure
- Ensuring effective processing of asylum seekers in accordance with the Refugees Act
- Clearing out conveyors upon arrival and before departure
- Ensuring effective processing of inadmissible, undesirable, and prohibited persons
- Processing stowaways effectively
